Lions-NSU baseball series postponed again

Rain and sleet and snow may not affect the United States Postal Service, but it certainly dampens the MIAA baseball postseason tournament.

Thursday night’s rain, sleet and snow caused Missouri Southern’s baseball series against Northeastern State to be postponed again on Friday night.

The revision of the revised schedule now has the Lions and RiverHawks starting their best-of-three series with a nine-inning game today at 3 p.m. at Joe Becker Stadium.

The second game will begin on Sunday at noon, and the decisive third game, if necessary, also will be played Sunday afternoon.

Elsewhere around the league, the Pittsburg State-Central Missouri series has been moved from Warrensburg to Hays. The Gorillas and Mules will play twinbill today at 3 p.m. A third game, if needed, will be on Sunday afternoon.

Missouri Western and Fort Hays State also hope to begin their series today in St. Joseph.

One series actually began on Friday as Central Oklahoma edged Emporia State 4-3 in Edmond.

The four series winners advance to a double-elimination tournament next week at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kan.

Postcards mailed to the homes of those charged with trying to pick up prostitutes will offer a reminder about spreading sexually transmitted diseases, along with listing the court date. Do you think this is a good approach?
