MSSU, Pitt State pairings set for MIAA tournament

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Missouri Southern women and both the Pittsburg State men and women will host first-round games for the MIAA Postseason Tournament. The MSSU men will play on the road.

The winners of the first-round games will advance and join the top four seeds in Kansas City, Mo.

Missouri Southern's men, who fell to Central Oklahoma on Saturday, will travel to Emporia State on Monday night. ESU beat the Lions 76-62 on Jan. 23 in Emporia and 69-66 in Joplin on Feb. 16.

Pittsburg State's men will play host to Truman State on Monday night in a rematch of a Feb. 9 game that saw the Gorillas lose a 22-point second-half lead and fall 81-75.

The MSSU women will play host to Northwest Missouri on Tuesday night. The Lions beat the Bearcats 64-55 on Jan. 3.

Pitt State's women will host Missouri Western on Tuesday and will try to avenge a 70-65 loss on Jan. 30.

All games tip off at 7 p.m.
