OCC splits conference matches; Lions fall at Northwest

Ozark Christian College split its conference volleyball matches in Kansas this weekend.

The Ambassadors (7-6, 3-1 Midwest Christian College Conference) swept Barclay 25-16, 25-13, 25-22 on Saturday in Haviland.

Amy Huitt and Carrie Page had 11 kills apiece for OCC, and Page also had eight digs. Setter Bethany Decker had 32 assists.

The Ambassadors suffered their first league loss Friday night at Manhattan Christian 25-13, 25-18, 27-25. Leaders included Huitt with 10 kills, Decker with 21 assists and Page with eight blocks.

OCC has a home match at 6 p.m. Monday against Cottey College.

Lions fall at Northwest

MARYVILLE, Mo. — Brooke Bartosh and Abby Graves had 14 and 12 kills, respectively, as Northwest Missouri State downed Missouri Southern 25-16, 25-18, 25-18 Saturday night at Bearcat Arena.

The Bearcats (7-4, 3-0 MIAA) had a .316 attack percentage compared to .160 for the Lions (0-10, 0-2 MIAA).

Payton Graves had nine kills and only two errors for the Lions. Sydney Potts had 18 assists and Katie Politte 10 digs for the Lions.

Missouri Southern plays at Pittsburg State in a Sonic Trophy Series match at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
