Missouri Southern softball announced the signing of three prep players for the 2013-14 season on Monday.
Dana Graves, from Humansville, Mo., will join pair of players from the Tulsa, Okla., area — Jessica Castoe from Glenpool and Myranda Stewart from Owasso.
“All three of these young women bring something special to the program,” MSSU coach Bill Gray said in a statement. “Depth, speed and power. All aspects that every softball team needs.”
Graves was a four-year starter at Weaubleau High School and earned all-conference, all district, all-region and all-state selections in all four years. The catcher holds the school home run record with 26 and allowed just four stolen bases in her four-year career. She was the region MVP in 2011 and 2012 and finished her career with 128 RBI and a slugging percentage of .891.
Castoe started four seasons at Glenpool High School, where she was an Oklahoma Class 4A All-State nominee this season. She was a two-time all-conference selection and was a Tulsa All-Metro honorable mention player in 2011, when Glenpool was the regional runner-up.
Stewart was also a four-year starter and helped Owasso to the Oklahoma Class 6A state tournament this fall. She was a three-time all-conference player and was a first-team all-district selection this season.
“They have all been coached at the highest level in high school and travel ball,” Gray said. “We are getting students of the game and quality people as well.”
