FEMA provides phone number for assistance

— John Treanor, FEMA spokesman, said the telephone number that residents affected by the tornado can call for assistance once the area is declared a federal disaster, is (800) 621-3362. He said the number operates continuously for all disaster declarations.
In the meantime, Treanor recommends that victims of the tornadic storm contact their insurance provider first and their county emergency management office.
“That helps in their gathering of information,” he said.
