LANGLEY, Okla. — The Grand River Dam Authority Lake Patrol has reported that the body of Alan Lee Long, 47, of Anderson, Mo., was recovered from the waters of Grand River near the Sportsman Shores area.
The location is about four miles downstream from where it is believed Long’s boat capsized on March 30 in an area below the tailrace of Pensacola Dam.
Since March 30, the GRDA Lake Patrol, along with assistance from several other law enforcement and emergency response personnel, had been searching the area for Long, along with Ricky Beeson, 20, of Noel, Mo. Beeson’s body was recovered on April 14 near the mouth of Spavinaw Creek in Lake Hudson.
Long’s body was turned over to the medical examiner’s office.
Underwater cameras, side scan sonar units and the forward-looking infrared camera on the GRDA helicopter were all used during the 23 days of searching.
