PITTSBURG, Kan. — A Pittsburg man has been charged with six felonies after what authorities say was a botched burglary Saturday in rural Pittsburg.
Casey Jent, 18, was arrested at 6:59 a.m. by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department on charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, theft, criminal damage, felony obstruction and criminal trespass.
Deputies said two juvenile males, one 17 and one 15, also were arrested.
Authorities responded at 3:47 a.m. to a burglary in progress at 3402 E. 20th St. in rural Pittsburg. The homeowner told deputies that somebody was trying to break into a locked outbuilding on the property. Deputies found a vehicle stuck in the mud on private property about 2.5 miles northeast of the home. Authorities later arrested Jent and the two juveniles in a wooded area.
Jent is being held at the Crawford Count Jail on $39,500 bond. Both juveniles were transported to the juvenile-detention center.
