Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 1:38 p.m. Thursday on Route HH, a mile east of Carterville in Jasper County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Thomas C. Trimble, 79, of Blue Springs, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin with serious injuries. Trimble was a passenger in a car driven by Danny J. Wright, 79, of Lake Winnebago. Wright and another of his passengers, Gwendolyn J. Wright, 75, of Lake Winnebago, told the patrol that they would seek treatment on their own for minor injuries.

Their eastbound car was stopped in traffic to make a left turn and was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Damon S. Teel, 19, of Carthage, the patrol said.

• A Goodman woman sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 3:50 p.m. Thursday on Sorrel Road, 3 miles south of Neosho in Newton County, the state patrol said.

Rhonda H. Bickford, 66, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Neosho Hospital.

She was a passenger in a westbound vehicle driven by Rhonda K. Moore, 51, of Goodman, who swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle and her vehicle ran off the road and struck a ditch, the patrol said.

• A Pineville teen sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 5:30 a.m. Thursday on Missouri Highway 59 in Lanagan, according to the patrol.

Jessica S. Ali'ifua- Hurlbert, 18, was taken by ambulance to Freeman Neosho Hospital.

She was driving a northbound car that ran off the road and struck an embankment, the patrol said.
