Got a job interview?

Kim Horton, placement specialist with Hire Advantage, offers these tips for people who have job interviews:

Go prepared with questions.

Research the company and the position, which will help you form questions and impress the employer with your knowledge.

Wait to ask about salary toward the end of the interview so you don't appear to be fixated on money.

Ask questions about educational opportunities such as tuition reimbursement, seminars and certification. This will show a willingness to learn.

If you are interviewing for an entry-level position and hope to move up, ask about opportunities for advancement.

Remember that you are interviewing the employer as much as the employer is interviewing you. Ask questions about the work environment and anything that is important to you.

Accentuate the positive, but be honest.

Be friendly and prompt, and dress appropriately.
