Floyd Richard Wiggins, 79, of Mentone, Calif., passed away peacefully on Monday, June 3, 2013.
Richard was born April 28, 1934, in Joplin, Mo., the son of Floyd and Marguerite Wiggins.
Rosana May Stoll and Floyd Richard Wiggins, of Joplin, were united in marriage on Sept. 5, 1954, in Joplin. They were married for 51 years when Rosana passed away in 2006. They lived the early years of their marriage in Chicago, Ill., where Richard was stationed at the "5th Army Headquarters".
Richard first worked for Townley, Metal & Hardware Company for over 20 years. He then worked as a manager at McGuckins Hardware in Boulder, Colo. He spent his remaining working years at Hast Lumber Company in Commerce City, Colo., where he retired in the late 1990's as a partner in the business. He and Rosana settled in Mentone, Calif., in 2000, to be closer to their daughter, Tiffany Wiggins of Pasadena.
Richard was a loving husband, father and brother. He laughed with unbridled joy, loved with the entirety of his heart and lived life to the fullest every day. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Susan Wiggins, of Lake Forest, Calif. and Tiffany Wiggins, of Pasadena, Calif.; his sister, Cecelia Fisher, of Joplin, Mo. and her children.
He will be buried at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside California on June 19, with military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for tribute contributions to the Alzheimer's Association be made instead.
