WEBB CITY, Mo. — Jorel Richard (Joe) Lansdown peacefully passed to his heavenly home surrounded by his loving wife and family members at his home in Webb City, Friday, Jan. 10, 2014. He was 86 years old.

Joe was born Feb. 6, 1927, in Easyville, Mo., to Paulina (Taylor) and Arthur Lansdown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ed, Raymond, Pete and Gene and his sister, Carrie Earl.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mildred (Tate) Lansdown, of the home; three daughters, Betty Pearson (Paul), Carterville, Margaret Bramlett (Larry), Diamond, Pamela Anastosopolos (James), Carterville; four grandchildren, Scott Bramlett (Paula), Diamond, Corey Bramlett (Abigail), Jefferson City, Miranda Hendrick (Steven), Oronogo, Quinton Black (Holly), Bossier City, La., and six great-grandchildren, Joey and Emily Bramlett, Emma and Evan Hendrick, and Abigail and Madison Black.

In his early life, Joe had a milk route, then went on to travel the country as an insulator for Johns Manville Co. In 1958, he moved his family to Carterville and went to work for Bard & Bard Co. in Joplin, Mo. He later worked for Hardy Sheet Metal and retired from Patterson Plumbing.

Joe built two houses, one in Carterville for his family, and one at his beloved Table Rock Lake, where he would live in retirement. Joe loved spending time with his family, being outdoors hunting and fishing or just watching the birds in his feeders or the fish in his pond. He loved taking the family out on his pontoon boat for a day of swimming or just riding around the Lake.

He was a kind, loving, gentle man who will be missed greatly by his family.

The body has been taken for cremation and a memorial service has been planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Diamond, Mo.
