JOPLIN, MO — Patricia Dawson, age 74, of Joplin, Mo., died on Sunday, May 22 ,2011, at her home as a result of the tornado in Joplin, Mo. Mrs. Dawson was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday, Jan. 1, 1937. She was the daughter of Jack and Ruth (McKinley) Sears. She was a homemaker and a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo. She is survive by three sons, Jerry Dawson, Springfield, John Dawson, Pierce City, Mo., and James Dawson, of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters, Jane Wimer, Joplin, Nancy Fox, Springfield, and Barbara Taylor, Buffalo, Mo.; her former husband, Donald Dawson, Springfield; three grandchildren an one great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield on Saturday, June 4, beginning at 2 p.m. with Hosea Bifyeu officiating.
