NEOSHO, Mo. —
David "Andy" Antoine Tarpy, 28, of Neosho, Mo., died March 13, 2013, in Indiana, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Andy was born May 19, 1984, in Joplin, the son of Scott and Coleen (Belisle) Tarpy. He was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Neosho High School, class of 2002. During high school, he was active in drama, debate, choraleers, cecilian choir and any other vocal program offered. His love of performing started in third grade when he was given his first solo for the elementary Christmas program. From that point he had a love of performing and received numerous district and state honor choirs which lasted throughout his school career. He was a performer since early childhood so his fascination and eventual love for performing came as no surprise or disappointment as he belonged on stage. He made each role his own and always left the audience laughing. He loved to play his guitar and sing, especially spending time with friends. He was an avid lifelong fan of KU Basketball, Kansas City Chiefs football and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
Andy is survived by his mother, Coleen Tarpy, of Neosho; brother, David Tarpy and wife, Kristen, of Overland Park, Kan.; sister, Meghan Tarpy and fiance, Clay Sexson, of Goodman; three nephews, Wyatt and Henry Tarpy and Rilynn Sexson; maternal grandmother, Linda Nana Belisle, of Neosho; paternal grandmother, Shirley Tarpy, of Lawrence, Kan.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends and his beloved cat, Leia. Andy is preceded in death by his father, Scott Tarpy; maternal grandfather, Andy "Papa" Belisle; and paternal grandfather, Sonny Tarpy.
The body has been taken for cremation. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. at the Neosho United Methodist Church downtown facility.
Memorial contributions in memory of Andy may be made to the Andy Tarpy Memorial Fund in care of Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
