Ginger Reppond

WEBB CITY, Mo. — Ginger Gorda Reppond, age 49, of Webb City, Mo., went to be with Jesus at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at her home following a courageous two-year battle with Melanoma.

Born Jan. 15, 1964, a U.S. Citizen, in Strasburg France, she was the daughter of Lloyd A. Gorda and the late Arlene E. Christenson Gorda and graduated from Baxter Springs High School, later attending Havre College in Montana. She had lived in the Joplin area the past 20 years.

Ginger was a wife, best friend, mother, grandmother, wonderful sister, Evangelist, author (Losing Megan), and co-founder of Megan's House. She was very active in the church and missionary work at Souls Harbor, Lafayette House, Watered Gardens and was a very firm believer in following Gods Great Commission to share His Gospel with everyone she could, and she did, with love, firmness, grace and compassion. She was a member of Peace Tabernacle in Joplin and Peace South in Webb City. She was employed at Leggett & Platt in the Accounts Payable Department.

She married Jeff Reppond on July 28, 2006, at Peace Tabernacle in Joplin. He survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Holly Woodward and husband, Josh, of Webb City, Kyrstin Reppond, of Cleveland, Tenn., Madison Reppond, of Wichita, Kan.; her granddaughter, Gracie May Woodward, of Webb City; her father, Lloyd A. Gorda, of Pittsburg, Kan.; three siblings, Sonja Blanchard, of Pittsburg, Lon Gorda, of Baxter Springs, Kan. and Mari Gorda, of Atlanta, Ga. In addition to her mother, Ginger was preceded in death by a daughter, Megan Reppond; and a sister, Dee Gorda.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Peace Tabernacle, 5734 S. Main St. Joplin, with Pastor Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, with Jim Zerkel, Benjamin Southwick, Shawn Gorda, Josh Woodward, Scott Spencer and Kevin Sooter serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Peace Tabernacle on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m.
