CARTHAGE, Mo. —
Shirley H. Deitz, 76, Carthage, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
Shirley H. Wardlow was born Dec. 2, 1936, in Barton County, Mo., the daughter of Hubert Vern Wardlow and Gertrude Mae Salt Wardlow. She attended Carthage Public Schools and was a 1954 graduate of Carthage Senior High School. She attended Pittsburg State University for one year.
She married James Allen Deitz on May 6, 1956, in Carthage; he survives.
Shirley worked at Central National Bank, Carthage, Carthage Water and Electric, Century 21, Homefolk and Charles Burt Real Estate companies. She and her husband, Jim, owned and operated Deitzs Electronics and Service till their retirement.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Amy Lynn Smith, Joplin; and a son, Matthew Allen Deitz, New Orleans, La.; one sister, Flora Wardlow Hardesty, Palm Desert, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Gertrude Wardlow.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced by Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.
