JOPLIN, Mo. —
Kenneth Leon Altman, age 82, Joplin, passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at his home with family at his side.
Kenneth was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Oklahoma City, Okla., son of the late Walter and Mrytle Altman. He was self employed all his adult life, and was a member of the American Legion, the local V.F.W, and he was a Mason. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents; Kenneth was preceded in death by two brothers, Monte and Jack.
Survivors include his wife, of 61 years, Hazel; sons, Charles Altman and wife, Peggy, of Webb City, and David Altman and wife, Connie, of Joplin; daughter, Cynthia Shelton and husband, Mont, Webb City; brothers, Harold, Ralph, and Curtis Altman, all of Joplin; grandchildren, Eric, Lindsay, Kelsey, Tara, Chase, Ashley, Jade; great-grandchildren, Conner, Addison, and Jaydin.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 2:30 p.m. in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.
