CARL JUNCTION, Mo. —
Mary Ruth Carpenter (McCorkle) age 89, of Carl Junction passed away on Jan. 26, 2013, at Webb City Health & Rehab.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1923, in Carl Junction, Mo., to Jeff McCorkle and Francis Mosbaugh McCorkle. Mary lived most of her life in the four state area and retired from Modine Manufacturing Company in Joplin in 1990.
She married Walter Carpenter on Dec.24, 1940, and he preceded her in death in October 1990.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Ann Sutton in 1974.
She is survived by a son, Mike Carpenter, of Carl Junction; two grandchildren, Tammy Vaughn, of Rogers, Ark. and Troy Sutton, of Joplin; two greatgranddaughters, Lucy Vaughn and Maggie Sutton.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Carl Junction Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
