GIRARD, KS —
Vera Delores (Stevens) Page Watts, 77, of Girard, Kan., went home to be with her lord and savior at 4:36 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at the Via Christi Hospital.
She was born June 13, 1935, at Galena, Kan., the daughter of Thamer and Eva M. (Davies) Stevens. As a child, the family moved around to many small towns because of her father's evangelistic work. She attended College High School in Pittsburg, Kan.
On April 10, 1952, she was united in marriage to Perry Page at the Beulah Christian Church. Together they had three children Dennis, Dawn and Kyle. She married Harry "Leroy" Watts, at Mindenmines Christian Church, on June 6, 1998. He survives at the home.
Mrs. Watts was a homemaker and a talented singer. She sang at churches, on the radio and for several weddings and funerals.
She was a longtime member of the Mindenmines Christian Church, where her father was the minister for over 30 years.
Survivors include her husband, Leroy, of Girard; two sons, Dennis Page, of Butler, Mo., and Kyle Page and his wife, Marianne, of Liberal, Mo.; a daughter, Dawn Page, of Madison, Wis.; two brothers, Doyle Stevens, of Gardner, Kan., and Dan Stevens, of Pittsburg; five sisters, Myrlene Jarmin, of Ozark, Mo., Margie Smith, of Mindenmines, Mo., Thama Gooddard, of Halltown, Mo., LeVeda Beebe, of Prince George, British Columbia, and Della Rezen, of Kansas City, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Evelyn Ruth Stevens.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Mindenmines Christian Church with Rev. Dan Moss officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Brenner Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Nashville Cemetery.
