JOPLIN, MO —

Rickie Dean Henson, age 45, Joplin, passed away at 5:51 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital after a sudden illness.

Rickie was born Nov. 16, 1967, in Joplin, and was a lifetime Joplin resident.

He worked as a diesel mechanic for Joplin Freightliners for over 10 years and had been employed by TMC Transportation for the past six years. He attended Joplin schools and was a graduate of the former Parkwood High School.

Rickie married Donna Oliver on April 18, in Miami, Okla. She survives at the home.

Additional survivors include his children, Patricia Nichole Henson, Joplin, Lacy Henson, Miami, and Ashlee Christian, Miami; a grandson, Maddox Reese Pyle, Joplin; a brother and wife, Christopher and Melinda Henson, Joplin; nephews, Justin and Jimmy Henson, Joplin; niece, Lacee King, Joplin; great-nephew, Aidan Henson, Joplin; his mother and father-in-law, Jack and Oleta Nevill, Texas City, Texas; and his parents, Arthur and Virginia Henson, Joplin.

At his request, Rickie will be taken for cremation. No formal services are planned, however, the family will meet at his wife's home.  

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
