Anne B. Daniels Allen

JOPLIN, MO —

Anne B. Daniels Allen, age 87, of Joplin, passed away peacefully at her home at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012.

Born in Roanoke, Va., she was the daughter of the late Leonard Berkley Garthright and Annie Christine Von Komriek Garthwright and had lived in Joplin since 1963, moving from Long Beach, Calif. She was raised in Virginia, and received her bachelors degree from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. A realtor, she operated Anne Daniels Real Estate Agency in Joplin, for many years. She was a Christian. An avid golfer, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and always cared for stray pets. She loved her kids and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip K. Daniels Jr. She married Robert L. Allen Jr. on Aug. 5, 1978, in St. Louis. He preceded her on March 10, 2006.

One brother and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include three sons, Maj. Paul Daniels, U.S. Army Ret. and wife, Valora of Joplin, Phillip K. Daniels III, of Springfield, Mo., and James F.B. Daniels and wife, Catherine, of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren, Michelle, Marie, Paula, Kurt and Bryan; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to Joplin Area Catholic Schools.
