WEBB CITY, MO —
Merton L. "Buster" Peavler, age 56, of Webb City, passed away at 11:02 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, following a sudden illness.
Buster was born June 12, 1956, in Brookfield, Mo., and had lived in Webb City the last 25 years. Buster was employed with the City of Webb City for the last six years and formerly was an owner-operator truck driver for Peavler Trucking. He had also worked for Par Electric Co. and Shade Tree Service Co. He was a member of the Webb City Elk's Lodge. Buster was also a musician, playing a variety of instruments. He enjoyed riding his Harley and restoring classic cars. Buster served his country in the U.S. Army.
Buster married Debbie Ogle Sept. 22, 2005, in Eureka Springs, Ark. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Alvin "Peav" Peavler and wife, Addison, Carl Junction, Mo.; two daughters, Tammy Beaver and husband, Larry, Joplin, Mo., and Tracy Lowe and husband, Jeramy, Carterville, Mo.; one brother, Doug Peavler and wife, Janice, Rogers, Ark.; eight grandchildren, Ashley, Alexis, Zack, Dakota, Mason, Aubrey, A.J. and Lexie; and two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Easton. Buster was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Fern Peavler; one brother, Alvin Peavler; and two sisters, Deloma Moore and Caroletta Ogle. Buster was a loving husband, father, Pom Pa, brother and friend.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Walthall officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Webb City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel.
Memorial contributions are requested to the Diabetes Foundation in care of the funeral home.
