JOPLIN, MO —
Sally L. Dameron, 79, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Spring River Christian Village.
She was born Feb. 13, 1933, to the late John and Ferne (Cummings) Holmes.
Sally was raised in Joplin, Mo., and graduated from Joplin High School. She graduated from Joplin Junior College in 1952.
She married LeRoy Dameron in 1968. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1998. Sally and her husband lived in Powell, Mo., and were owners of Dameron Realty in Pineville. After retiring, they moved to Bella Vista, Ark., where Sally joined the Georgia Girls tap dance group. She danced with the Georgia Girls for many years, and her friendships with the Girls endured long past their tapping days. Sally was a 40-year member of the Pineville Hobby Club. She and the ladies of the club enjoyed dining and trips to the areas entertainment venues. Sally forever cherished the friendships she made with the ladies of the Pineville Hobby Club.
Sally was also preceded in death by her brother, John Donald Holmes.
She is survived by her son, Greg and his wife, Julie, of Joplin; two grandchildren, Holly Brown and her husband, Josh, of Olathe, Kan.; Tony Dameron and his wife, Lindsey, of Joplin; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dameron will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, with Minister Truman Brady officiating. Burial will follow in Osborne Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or Touch A Life Foundation.
