Bertha L. Beckwith born to Albert C. Woodward and Mary (LaBranche) Woodward on June 19, 1950, in Waterbury, Conn., passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, after a courageous battle of five years with a rare form of cancer for which there is no treatment.
After graduating high school in Watertown, Conn., she became and LPN and as such worked for more than 35 years in a number of nursing situations. Her last years were spent caring for terminal children with rare diseases for which she gave her heart and soul.
She is survived by the love of her life, her loving husband, George S. Beckwith, of their home in Goodman, Mo. She leaves two sons, Howard Chappuis and wife, Michele, of Wheaton, Mo., Frank (Chuck) Linkovich, of Oronogo, Mo.; one daughter, Wendy Justice and husband, Dave, Weir, Kan.; three grandchildren, Ethan and Eli Chappuis, of Wheaton, Mo.; and one granddaughter, Robyn Nabors, of Weir, Kan. Her family was her life.
