WEBB CITY, Mo. —
Miss Paula Suzanne Smith, 62, of Webb City, Mo., departed this life suddenly on Friday morning, April 5, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Paula entered this life on May 27, 1950, at the former Jane Chinn Hospital in Webb City, to the union of the late Leroy and Guila Ruth (Stinson) Smith. She was a lifelong area resident of Webb City and was a 1968, graduate of Webb City High School.
She retired in 2011 after 20 of employment at the Dugout Sport Shop in Webb City. She was an avid OU and Webb City Cardinal fan and was also fond of Jeff Gordon. She was past president of the Webb City Youth Baseball and Basketball program and was active for many years in the Joplin Little Theater. Paula's funny, carefree and witty demeanor will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sister, Sherri Wiggins and husband, John, of Webb City; two nephews, Jason Smith and wife, Erika and Matt Wiggins and wife, Renissa all, of Oronogo, Mo.; four great-nieces and nephews, McKayla and Brenlynn Smith and A.J. and Mason Wiggins; and her dear friends the Glow Girls.
Memorial services for Paula Smith will be held on Tuesday evening, April 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m.
