JOPLIN, Mo. —
Dorothy J. Bray, age 85, Joplin, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, following a sudden illness.
She was born March 5, 1928 in Joplin, to Othello and Opal Mathews King.
Dorothy was a life long area resident. She worked as a cook for the Joplin R-8 School District. She was a member of the 2nd Assembly of God Church.
She married Oscar Bray on Nov. 5, 1944 in Columbus, Kan. He preceded her in death in 2010.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by one son, Ronald Bray; one daughter, Patricia Willingham; one brother, William King; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Dorothy is survived by two sons, Donald Bray and wife, Laura, Austin, Texas, and Raymond Bray and wife, Young Ae, Seal beach, Calif.; two daughters, Becky Rich and husband, Bill, Webb City, Mo., and Marsha Crowder and husband, Mike, Layton, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the 2nd Assembly of God Church, Joplin, with Rev. John Veazey and Rev. Mike Crowder officiating. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
