JOPLIN, Mo. — Mrs. Belinda Jean Booker, 52, of Joplin, Mo., passed into eternity on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, after an illness.

Belinda entered this life on Nov. 20, 1961, in Carthage, born to the union of Richard and Mary (Yates) Edwards.

She married Robert H. "Bob" Booker on June 10, 2004 and he survives of the home. Additional survivors include her parents; children, Andrew T. Anderson and Samantha Cuthbert and husband, Jason, all of Joplin; step-children, Robert Coleman Booker and Rocky Chase Solenberg both of Granby, Mo.; siblings, Kevin Edwards and wife, Inez, of Japan, Shane Rosario and wife, Jessica, of Carthage, Richard "Jose" Thomas Edwards, Jr. and wife, Theresa, of Tamns, Ill. and Andrea Koch, of Bradenton, Fla.; step-siblings, Kristi Wallace and husband, Kenny, of Joplin, Marvin Larson and wife, Peggy, of Mustang, Okla. and Bill Larson, of Tulsa; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Geraldine Edwards; and three siblings, James Larson, Brenda Neuman and Ricky Larson.

Belinda was a member of First United Methodist Church in Joplin and was active on the missions committee. She worked for many years as a sous-chef and waitress. Belinda loved to cook and was always sharing her culinary goodies with grateful neighbors.  She also loved reading, vegetable and flower gardening and for many years enjoyed handing out popsicles to neighborhood kids on hot summer days. She loved her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. Now she is at home with our Lord.

Funeral services are 3 p.m. Monday, April 7, at the First United Methodist Church in Joplin with Rev. Chris Belk officiating. Burial will follow in the Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Victor Ferguson, James Mills, Andrew Anderson, Kevin Edwards, Jose Edwards and Shane Rosario. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin.
