Betty Louise Venturella

RIVERTON, KS — Betty Louise Venturella, age 81, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at Quaker Hill Manor, Lowell, Kan., following an illness.

Betty was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Galena, Kan. Her parents were Charles and Anna (Whitescarver) Wolf.  She had lived in Riverton since 1968, moving from Galena.

She was a nurse's aide. She began working at Baxter Memorial Hospital Baxter Springs, Kan., before working at Quaker Hill Manor, Lowell, for several years. She then became a caregiver for numerous people in the area.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Riverton. Betty was an avid blood donor earning her 10 gallon donor pin.

She was married to Doc Venturella on Aug. 6, 1954, in Galena. He passed away May 26, 2007.

Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Chuck Wolf, Leland Wolf, Ted Wolf and David Wolf; and one sister, Dorothy Cox.

Surviving are three sons,  Martin Turley, Boron, Calif., David Venturella, Riverton, and Gregory Venturella, Scammon, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Lowell Cemetery, Lowell.  Rev. Jack Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena.
