NEOSHO, MO —
Carol Noah Barnes, 78, Neosho, Mo., died Jan. 30, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital, following a short illness.
She was born Oct. 7, 1933, in Topeka, Kan., the daughter of Otto and Alice (Cook) Vesper. She lived most of her life in the Neosho area and was a graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1951. She worked for the Neosho Public Schools as a secretary for 27 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Classy Ladies, was a collector of tea cups, loved living on the farm, watching her sons and grandsons play basketball, travel and going out to eat. Carol was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Neosho, and the last of the founding families of the Neosho First Lutheran Church.
She married L.V. Noah on Dec. 20, 1952. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2000, and then married Jack Barnes on Feb. 28, 2004. He survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, Dan Noah and wife, Judy, Neosho, Doug Noah and wife, Sharon, Midland, Texas, and David Noah and wife, Barbara, Seneca; two stepdaughters, Deborah Pfeifer and husband, John, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Tina McClure and husband, Jim, Blaine, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, LV, she is preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Randen Bond.
The body has been taken for cremation. Memorial services will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church, Rev. Dr. Bill Doubek will officiate.
