BERNICE, Okla. —
Nancy K. Cornwell, 68, passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin.
She was born on June 3, 1943, in Joplin to Oscar Evans and Doris Johnson Evans.
Nancy was a homemaker, a member of Crosswired Cowboy Church in Grove, Okla. and graduated from Miami High School.
She married Jerry Cornwell on Feb. 17, 1961, in Columbus, Kan. and he survives at the home.
She is also survived by her son, Rusty Cornwell and wife, Sherri, of Vinita, Okla.; daughters, Terri Daniels and husband, Charlie, of Quapaw, Okla. and Kelli Shoemaker and husband, James, of Joplin; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her dad, Oscar Evans; and one sister, Sally Garrison of Joplin. Nancy was preceded in death by her mom; and one brother, Stephen Evans.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City with Pastor Clint Sinclair officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation in her memory.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
