Lou Anne Herron

JOPLIN, MO —

Lou Anne 'Lou' Herron, age 61, Joplin, passed away at 9:46 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital.

Lou was born Sept. 8, 1951, in Joplin, to Don Hughes and the late Barbara Harryman Hughes. She had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.

Lou graduated from Joplin High School in 1969, and earned an associate degree from N.E.O. in 1971. She owned and operated her own deli and had worked in the office of Dr. O.E. Martin for several years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church; Ozark Gateway Master Gardeners; and Crossline Ministries.  

Lou Anne married Frank Herron III on April 17, 2007, in Miami, Okla. He survives at the home.

Additional survivors include her father, Don Hughes, Joplin; stepmother, Helen Hughes, Joplin; her son, Christopher Daniels, Joplin; sister-in-law, Diana Steele and her husband, David, Joplin; two stepsisters, Marcie Kersey and her husband, David, Independence, Kan., and Shelly Wahr, Lake City, Mich.; and six grandchildren.

Services are planned for Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Kyle Beverlin will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ozark Gateway Master Gardeners in care of Parker Mortuary.    

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
