WEBB CITY, Mo. —
Leola F. Holden, age 92, of Webb City, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, at the Freeman Health Systems.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1921, in Verona, Mo., to J.W. Whitelock and Ethel Smith Whitelock. Leola was three months old when she moved to Prosperity and then to Webb City. She was a member of the Frisco Church in Webb City and now a member of the Duenweg Assembly of God and worked as a seamstress at Miller Clothing and later at Smith Clothing.
Leola married Clarence Allen March 24, 1945, and to this union were three sons, Lloyd Gene Allen, James Clayton Allen, and Steven Allen. Clarence preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1955.
On Sept. 27, 1969, she married Bill R. Holden who passed away on June 2, 2012.
She was also preceded by her two sons, Lloyd and James. Survivors include a son, Steven Allen, of the home; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Allen Kime; sister, Mildred Coker, of Webb City; and a brother, Bob Whitelock, of Webb City; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City, with a visitation on Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Carterville Cemetery.
