PITTSBURG, Kan. —
Norma Jean (Snyder) Howard, 78, of Pittsburg, Kan., passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Mo., after a sudden illness.
Born Nov. 18, 1934, in Cherokee County, Kan., to Phares and Dorothy Snyder, Norma was raised in Asbury, Mo., and graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1952.
Norma was united in marriage to Marvin C. Howard on May 17, 1958.
Prior to her retirement, she worked at Elder's Shirt Manufacturing and Parsons Army Ammunition Plant.
Along with her husband, survivors include Mike Howard and wife, Penny, of Carl Junction, Kelly Borden and husband, Joe, of Pittsburg, Pam Heide and husband, Scott, of Medfield, Mass., Stacy Coutu and husband, Erik, of Hattiesburg, Miss; seven grandchildren, Megan and Brett Howard, Ryan, Shawn and Taylor Heide and Brooke and Addy Coutu; also a brother, Keith Snyder and wife, Terry, of Carl Junction.
The family will receive friends at Parker Chapel, Friday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parker Chapel with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of Parker Mortuary.
