Buck Roosevelt Dalton

ANDERSON, Mo. — Buck Roosevelt Dalton, 81 years, of Anderson, Mo., was called to heaven on Monday, April 14, 2014, at his residence with his loving wife by his side.

Buck was born on Feb. 15, 1933, in Anderson, one of 12 children born to the late John Henry and Sarah Elizabeth "Sadie" (Hutchison) Dalton. He had the Sinclair Service Station and the Four Season Insulation Business in Anderson.

Buck met Myrtle Maxine McCollum at the Laundry Mat next door to the service station and he married her March 31, 1955, in Anderson, and to this union two sons were born.

He graduated from Anderson High School and went on to college in Pittsburg, Kan., at Pittsburg State College, where he received a Bachelor's degree and  a Master's degree in education. He taught Physics and Industrial Arts in Pleasanton, Kan. and Harrisonville, Mo. Buck moved back to Anderson in 1984, after his health declined. He enjoyed reading, woodworking and cherished time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, William H. "Junior" Dalton, James H. Dalton, Staff Sgt. Albert L. "Babe" Dalton, Abraham L. Dalton, Tom Dalton and Robert (Bob) Dalton; and four sisters, Phyllis Dalton Trenary, Ruth Dalton Oxley, Mary Lou Dalton Dotson and Helen Dalton Savage.

Buck is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Myrtle M. Dalton, of the home; two sons, Max R. Dalton and wife, Launie, of Anderson, and David Lee Dalton and wife, Jenita, of Bentonville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Crystal Ann Reynolds, Ryan Dalton, Shane Dalton, Megan Meador and Alyssa Dalton; seven great-grandchildren, Madison Reynolds, Katelyn Reynolds, Brenna Dalton, Tre Dalton, Kyla Dalton, Sierra Meador and Ashtin Hutson; a brother, Roy Lon Dalton and wife, Betty, of Joplin, Mo.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Robert E. Dalton, of Kansas City, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; along with a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Buck.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in the Anderson Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, from 6 until 7 p.m. at the Ozark Funeral Home, the family will receive friends at this time.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Anderson Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
