LAMAR, MO —
Oleta “Francine” Stansberry, went to be with her Lord, on Monday, April 23, 2012, at 10:21 p.m. during her hospital stay at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar, Mo.
Francine was born Aug. 19, 1925, at Como, Texas, to F.L. (Butch) and Lola (Medlin) Mayo. She was a cherished wife, mother and grandmother.
Francine worked 32 1/2 years as the secretary to the Golden City High School principal. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Golden City, and a lifetime choir member at the church. She was also a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association and Morris Grove Extension Club. Francine loved to water ski and play cards. She was a fantastic pie maker, cook and seamstress, with her family being her greatest joy.
Francine was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest Mayo Sr. and Lola Mayo; her sister, Betty Dickerson; and her brother, Forrest “Sonny” Mayo Jr.
Survivors are her devoted husband, Carl Glen Stansberry, of 62 years; a sister, Justine McManis; four sons, Tony and wife, Christine Stansberry, Shawnee, Kan., Charles and wife, Holly Stansberry, St. Charles, Mo., Lowell and wife, Carolyn Stansberry, Baldwin City, Kan., and Jerry and wife, Sandy Stansberry, Lamar; nine grandchildren, Natasha Lucas and husband, Mike, Scott Stansberry, Greg Stansberry, Stephanie Becker and husband, Toby, Glen Stansberry and wife, Lynn, Edmond Stansberry, Stacy Starbuck, Sarah Obermann and husband, Brian and Jordan Stansberry; seven great-grandchildren, Clayton and Chase Lucas, Clara Francine, Evaline, Josie and Conely Becker and Penelope Stansberry; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church in Golden City.
Memorial contributions can be given to Barton County Memorial Hospital or Golden City First Christian Church.
