Barbara Jean Lovell

JOPLIN, MO —

 

Barbara Jean Lovell, age 66, of Joplin, Mo., passed away early Sunday, April 29, 2012, at her home following her brave battle with cancer.

Barbara was born on Aug. 30, 1945, in Joplin, the daughter of Roscoe and Helen (Owen) Spence. She has been a lifetime area resident. Barbara was a homemaker, spending her days loving and caring for her family. She enjoyed many things in her spare time, Barbara was an excellent seamstress, an avid bowler, she was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, a softball manager/coach and umpire, an excellent cook and loved scrapbooking.

She married Loyd Lovell on June 16, 1963, he survives.

Additional survivors include her mother, Helen Spence; four daughters, Pamela Kohler (Jamie), of Joplin, Paula Kenworthy (J.R.), of The Colony, Texas, Penny Lovell, of Webb City, Mo., and Peggy Lovell, of Springfield, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Stacie Anderson, Sydney Holtsman and Marty Kenworthy. Barbara was preceded in death by her father; and brother, Gerald Spence.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel, Jamie Lankford, will officiate. Burial will immediately follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
