CARL JUNCTION, MO —

Jimmy Lee House, age 67, Carl Junction, Mo., passed away at 9:43 a.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital.

Jimmy was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Independence, Kan., to the late James House and Maxine Kolb House and had lived in the Joplin area since 1967.  

He worked at Fibrex, Inc. for several years before he retired. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was a radio communications specialist. Jimmy was a member of the PTO in the Carl Junction School District. He supported his children throughout their childhood and loved his family. One of his favorite pastimes was going to flea markets.  

Jimmy married Dixie Lee Sowder in 1967 in Joplin.  She survives at the home.

Additional survivors include two children, Kevin Lee House and his wife, Daphne, Kansas City, Mo., and Kristi Dawn House and her fiancé, Chris Trim, Webb City; his siblings, Louella Warren, Noble, Okla., Daniel Cripps, Joplin, David Cripps, Tulsa, Okla., Darlene House, Independence, Kan., Michael House, Wichita, Kan., James House, Roanoke, Va., Richard Maritt, Moore, Okla., Orville Maritt, Gilbert, Ariz., and Erma Maddera, Ark.; grandchildren, Jessica House, Joplin, Barron Trim, Webb City, Blake Kincaid, Kansas City, and Kelsey Kincaid, Kansas City; and several other extended family members and many friends. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a sister, Diane.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Military honors will be conducted at the service. The family will receive friends starting at 6 p.m. Monday at Parker Mortuary.
