JASPER, Mo. —
Clifford Young, 81, passed away June 30, 2013, at his home outside of Jasper, Mo., surrounded by his family.
Clifford was born Jan. 4, 1932, in Jasper County, to Herman and Florence Young. Clifford was a lifetime Jasper resident. He worked for W.R. Grace for 34 years and was a lifetime farmer. Clifford was a hard worker; he cleared by hand the land on "The Ranch" where he enjoyed to spend time. He loved to garden and share his garden harvest with family and friends. He liked to hunt, camp and travel. Clifford accepted the Lord at Mount Moriah Church.
Clifford was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lois Wilson. Their first date was at the Lamar fair. They were married on Feb. 10, 1952, at Mount Moriah Methodist Church. They were married 61 years.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Lois Young; three daughters, Brenda Felts and husband, Jim, of Lamar, Mo., Linda Parker, of Dighton, Kan., and Lisa Overman and husband, Scott, of Columbus, Kan.; one son-in-law, Bob Gastel; two sisters, Nadine MacNaughtion, of Wilmington, Ohio, and Geraldine Bunn, of Jasper; eight grandsons, six granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Clifford is preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Young, September of 2012; one daughter, Carol Gastel ,February 2005; and one brother, Charles Young.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 5, at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mitchell Cemetery.
