GRANBY, Mo. —
Kenneth D. Channel, 75, Granby, entered into rest on July 4, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 12, 1937, in Cassville, Mo., to James Ray Channel and Grace Mable (Wilson) Channel.
Kenneth moved to Granby from Cassville in 1963 and worked as the Superintendent of Granby City for 28 years. He was a cattle farmer and also a backhoe operator. He enjoyed Fox hunting and loved spending time with his grandchildren who called him "PaPa".
Kenneth married Mary "Sis" White on May 27, 1958, in Miami, Okla. and she survives.
He is also survived by his children, Mary Ann Frerer, of Carl Junction, Mo., Brenda Lane, of Granby, Mo., Jim Channel, of Granby, Mo., Jake Channel, of Granby, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Kenneth is preceded in death by his son, Thomas L. Channel on Aug. 2, 2011; and his granddaughter, Sissy Lane.
Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, at Granby Memorial Cemetery, Granby, Mo., nephew, David White officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at Clark Funeral Home, Granby Chapel.
