Earl E. Ritchie


Earl E. Ritchie, 95, Branson, Mo., passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the Culpepper Branson Assisted Living Center. 
Earl Ewalt Ritchie was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Reeds, Mo., a son of the late Frank Ritchie and Bessie (Sanders) Ritchie. He married Loretta Shore, on Aug. 14, 1938, in LaRussell, Mo., she survives. 
Earl was a planner for Rockwell International in Seal Beach, Calif., before moving to Carthage in 1985.  Earl was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. Earl and his wife, Loretta, were former members of the First Baptist Church, Carthage before moving to Branson. 
Survivors include a son, Earl E. Ritchie, Jr., wife, Betty, Houston, Texas; and a daughter, Janet Kay Bliss, husband, Richard, Branson, Mo.; one sister, Hattie Gulick, of Carthage; a brother, Cecil Ritchie, State of Missouri; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Gracie Graham, Vena Walters and Francis (Hazel) Garrison; five brothers, Newton, Clarence, Kenneth, LeRoy and Howard Ritchie. 
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the First Baptist Church, Carthage. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
