JASPER, MO —
John Hendricks Boyer, 66, of Jasper, Mo., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Webb City Health & Rehab after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1946, in Carthage, Mo., to Jack Boyer and Pauline Abbett Boyer. John was a lifelong farmer which he loved along with fishing in his free time. He was also an avid baseball fan especially when it came to his beloved St. Louis Cardinals. John was a devoted family man that loved to play with his grandchildren and just spend time with them every chance he was able to.
He married Jacque Tucker Boyer on Feb. 3, 1967, in Miami, Okla. She survives him at the home.
He is also survived by his daughters, Lorri Monroe and husband, Jeff and Traci Coleman and husband, Mark; son, Jackson Boyer and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Brooke, Beth, Jacob, Taylor, Marcus, Katelyn, Allison and Jack; and one sister, Jacqueline Milner and husband, Jerry. John was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Carol.
A memorial visitation will be held for family and friends on Saturday, Dec. 22, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. A memorial service for John will be conducted at a later date for the family.
John's family would like to give a special thank you and express their appreciation to the staff of Webb City Health & Rehab and to the staff of Avalon Hospice for all the care that they gave to John in the last few years.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the local Multiple Sclerosis Society in his memory.
Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
