McDonald County, Mo. —
Dorathy May Cantrell, 77, entered into rest on Dec. 25, 2012, at her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born Jan. 23, 1935, in McDonald County, Mo., to Grover and Linda (Arnold) Brodie.
Dorathy was a lifelong resident of the area and was co-owner of Cantrell Well Drilling for many years. She was a member of Church Of Hope and the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW #4141. She also loved being with her family.
Dorathy married Kenneth Eugene Daugherty, who preceded her in death, then married Eugene Stanley Cantrell on June 29, 1968, in Goodman, Mo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 28, 2003. She is also preceded in death by her sons, Eugene Daugherty and Joe Daugherty; three grandchildren, Adam Daugherty, Titus Daugherty, and Sara Daugherty.
She is survived by her children, Ray Daugherty and wife, Florie, of Neosho, Mo., LaDonna McDonald and husband, Dennis, of Neosho, Mo.; brothers, Jack Brodie, Jim Brodie, LeRoy Brodie, and John Henry Brodie; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Clark Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, Neosho, Mo. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rev. Malcolm Mosby officiating. Pallbearers will be Mark Lauderdale, Jim Morgan, David Brodie, Herb Shellenberger, Rick Francisco, and James Rue. Visitation will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at Clark Funeral Home.
