JOPLIN, MO —
Mary L. Busse, age 82, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 9:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Quaker Hill Nursing Home, following an illness.
Mary was born on Oct. 10, 1930, in Seneca, Mo., the daughter of the late Nathan and Etta Myers. She has been an area resident most her life. Mary worked for Miller Manufacturing for 26 years, housekeeping for St. John's Hospital and Brady Building for 15 years.
Mary married Harry Busse on Nov. 6, 1946, in Colombas, Kan. He proceeded her in death Nov. 27, 1991.
She is survived by four sons, Gary Busse and his wife, Ruth, of Granby, Bill Busse, of Joplin, Steve Busse and his wife, Janet, of Joplin, and Larry Busse and his wife, Debbie, of Baxter Springs, Kan.; two daughters, Peggy Grube, of Joplin, and Sharon Pogue and her husband, Richard, of Neosho; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was proceeded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Michael Pogue, Cody Pogue, Stephen Busse, David Busse, Gary Busse and William Busse will serve as pallbearers. The family request all food or cards to be sent to the home of Steve and Janet, 2169 State Line Road, Joplin MO 64804.
