JOPLIN, Mo. —
Annibel Faye Millard, age 88, Joplin, passed away at 12:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at a local nursing center after a sudden illness.
Annibel was born June 20, 1924, in Galena, Kan. to the late Roy Hatfield and Minnie Tipton Hatfield and had lived in the Joplin area most of her life.
She and her husband owned and operated the former Lens Shoestore in Galena for over 25 years. She was a former member of 6th Street Baptist Church, Galena.
Annibel was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Millard on Dec.14, 1991; and three sisters, Helen Neeley, Judy Martin and Zola Birkinsha.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Adams and her husband, Dale, Northport, Ala.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Thrasher and her husband, Brian, Heather Adams; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Thrasher and Brayden Thrasher; and a sister, Lois Schwebke, West Alice, Wis.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery, Galena. Pastor Jeff Martin will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dale Adams, Jim Adams, Brian Thrasher, Mike Hopkins, Kyle Birkinsha and Ray Birkinsha. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary.
