AURORA, MO —

Emma Golden Wilfley, age 97, of Aurora, Mo., passed away at 1:36 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013.

She was born Feb. 14, 1915, in Aurora, the daughter of the late Oscar Alvin and Lona (Casto) Franklin.

On Jan. 5, 1931, she married Albert Leroy Wilfley. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1999.  

Her infant son, Lee Alvin and seven siblings, Louise Crawford, Merle Sumners, Earl Franklin, Mildred Atwell, Maxine Franklin Dummit, Loraine Taylor and O.A. Franklin Jr., also preceded her in death.

Emma was a seamstress and a homemaker and a longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church. She often took sewing jobs not for the money she earned but for the company of those she worked for.  

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son, Gary Wilfley and his wife, Nancy, of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Michael Wilfley and his wife, Kathy, of Round Rock, Texas, and Jeanne Henriquez, of Meriville, Tenn.; and five great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Corby Wilfley and Trey, Scott and Taylor Henriquez.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, in the funeral home chapel.  

Memorial donations may be made to Southside Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
