The Joplin Globe

JOPLIN, Mo. — Richard V. Devore, 60, passed away Jan. 19, 2013.

He was born on June 27, 1952, in Joplin, Mo., where he was a life long resident.

Rick graduated from Parkwood High School before joining the Air Force. After the service Rick started his career as a machinist and was most recently employed at Midwest Tool.

Rick is survived by his wife, Cyndi, of the home; daughter, Amber Cogbill and husband, Brian, of Edmond, Okla.; sons, Trann Devore, of Joplin and Michael Matheny, of Neosho, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Leslie Devore, of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Madison, Ryley, Derrick, Cade, Gabby, and Hayle; brothers, Steve Devore, of Fayetteville, Ark., Ronnie Devore, of Joplin, Scott Devore, of Dallas, Texas and Pat Devore, of Carl Junction, Mo.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and his ever faithful golden retriever Max.

Rick was always quick with a joke or story and he will always be loved by his family. Per his request, no services are planned.
