JOPLIN, MO —
Diane Rose Chimero, age 57, Joplin, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Freeman Hospital.
Diane was born June 6, 1955, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late John Bettica and Mary Longo Bettica. She had lived in Joplin 22 years, moving from Long Island, N.Y.
She worked for Conway Truck Loads as a training manager. She celebrated her 20 year anniversary with the company this past November. Following the tornado of 2011, Diane was instrumental in helping those displaced by organizing efforts to aid in whatever the needs were.
Diane married Frank Chimero on Aug. 24, 1974, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He preceded her in death on April 17, 2012.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura Brasier and her husband, Rick, Diamond; a son, Frank Chimero, Brooklyn; one sister, Pat Kennedy, Florida; one brother, Fred Bettica, Pa.; three grandchildren, Reagan, Judd and Braxton; and her mother-in-law, Gertrude Kelly, Joplin.
Graveside services are planned for Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at Parker Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Diane's name, care of Parker Mortuary.
