JOPLIN, MO —
Margie Dale DeArmond, age 84, of Joplin, Mo., passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, following a short illness.
She was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Joplin, to Marion and Hester Robison Stripling.
Margie married Lloyd DeArmond on Sept. 2, 1945, in Columbus, Kan. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2008.
She was a secretary for DeArmond Electric. She attended Park Plaza Christian Church and was a member of the American Business Women Association. Margie was also a Past Worthy Matron of Ruth Chapter No. 177 Order of the Eastern Star.
Margie is survived by one son, Dale DeArmond and wife, Vickie, Joplin; five daughters, Nancy Yust, Duenweg, Mo., Linda Mithcell, Joplin, Kathy Parnell, Freeport Fla., Patti DeArmond, Joplin, and Jean Ann Jones, Columbus; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Pat Case, Naomi Case and Betty Young; and one granddaughter, Bailey.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary chapel with B.A. Austin minister officiating. Burial will be in the Carl Junction Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 27, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
