JOPLIN, MO —     

Dale Chester Gordon, age 70, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at his home with family at his side.

Dale was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Topeka, Kan., son of the late Clarence Gordon and Edna Starkel Gordon. He graduated from Topeka High School and then served with the United States Navy. He returned to Topeka to become a police officer with the City of Topeka. After several years he became a truck driver. He moved to Joplin in the late 1970s, where he drove a truck, worked in construction and worked for Fourth Street Bowl. Most recently he was employed with CNC Machine.

Dale was an avid bowler and golfer and had several 300 games. He was a devoted father and grandfather who loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his sons, Kyle Dale Gordon and wife, Alicia, of Joplin, Michael Clarence Gordon and wife, Jane, of Central Point, Ore., and Troy Robert Gordon and wife, Kerry, of Grants Pass, Ore.; brothers, Jim Gordon, Bill Gordon and Don Gordon; and grandchildren, Korbyn Storm Gordon and Chastin Skott Johnson.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 2, at 1 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with cremation to follow. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m.
