BAXTER SPRINGS, KS —

Calvin Wayne Walker, 69, of Baxter Springs, passed from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo.

Calvin was born July 6, 1943, at Joplin, to the union of Calvin Leroy and Betty Jean (Garner) Walker.

Calvin served in the United States Army for 20 years, following the service he spent time in sales of various businesses. He enjoyed going fishing and spending time outdoors working on his garden. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Baxter Springs.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by one son, Steve Walker, of Grove, Okla.; two daughters, Lisa Walker-Duncan and husband, Jeff, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Deborah Newkirk, of Austin, Texas; and three grandchildren, Alysa Walker, Alex Duncan and Autumn Duncan.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, at the Spring River Dam, located just East of Baxter Springs.

Family ask in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
