JOPLIN, Mo. —
Joyce A. Baldwin, age 78, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday Feb. 2, 2013, at Freeman West Hospital, following an illness.
Joyce was born in Noblesville, Ind., the daughter of the late Virgil and Elsie (Fry) West. Joyce moved to the Joplin area in 1981. She worked as a care giver in the home health care industry. She was a Christian. Joyce was a devoted mother and grandmother. Joyce was full of personality and was not afraid to express her opinion. She enjoyed collecting unique objects.
She is survived by one son, David Anderson, Joplin; two daughters, Cynthia Cindy Hall, Webb City, Mo., and Christie Spencer and husband, Terry, Joplin; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother Steve and a sister Carol.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Daniel H. Wermuth, II will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
